Scarperia e San Piero (FI), Italy - Beatriz Neila Santos clinches the Women’s European Cup title for the third consecutive time in a heated season finale at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello. Second place in the first heat and the victory in Race 2 on Sunday proved to be crucial for the young Spaniard who, on the Yamaha of Team Trasimeno, finished the third season of the all-female championship promoted by EMG Eventi with a 9-point advantage on title rival Sara Sanchez. Her compatriot, under the flag of the WithU 511 Racing Team, fought until the the end, picking up an important victory in Race-1.
The two title contenders delighted the spectators with fiery battles until the end of the second race of the weekend. In the first race it was Sara Sanchez who prevailed on Neila Santos, who had started from pole, by just 95 thousandths of a second. Italian rider Roberta Ponziani (MotoXRacing, Yamaha) completed the podium after entering the fight for victory and finishing just 3 tenths from Sanchez. Aurelia Cruciani, with the Roc'n'Dea team colors on her Yamaha, took a solid fourth place ahead of 14-year-old Josephine Bruno (Gradara Corse, Yamaha), preceding Jessica Howden (WithU 511 Racing Team, Kawasaki) and an excellent Flavia Lucchetti (Racestar, Yamaha). Chilean rider Isis Carreno (Team GP3 by AD 11, Kawasaki) and Israeli Ran Yochay (Yamaha) finished in eighth and ninth position respectively, whilst Martina Guarino (Yamaha) rounded up the Top 10.
Race-2 was also characterized by an equally close fight for victory: Beatrice Neila Santos preceded Roberta Ponziani by just 29 thousandths on the finish line, with Sara Sanchez forced to settle for the 3rd step of the podium. Sara Cabrini, who had crashed out in the previous race, bounced back with an excellent fourth place, having the upper hand on Aurelia Cruciani, Flavia Lucchetti, Isis Carreño and Jessica Howden, enclosed in just over half a second in a thrilling final sprint. Lucchetti collects another important placement in points thanks to her sixth position, which allows her to finish the season in the Top 10 of the general classification.
The Mugello round saw the participation of numerous wild cards such as Nicole Cicillini (Kawasaki), Mia Obreza (Yamaha) from Slovenia and Brazilian Raquel Vaz (Kawasaki). The third edition of the Women's European Cup, before becoming aWomen’s European Championship in full effect, awarded Beatriz Neila Santos with 201 points, followed by Sara Sanchez with 192. Bronze medal for Roberta Ponziani, the highest-placed Italian, with 129 points ahead of Josephine Bruno with 99 and Isis Carreño at 89.

After the end of the season, EMG Eventi will take part in the EICMA Salone del Ciclo e Motociclo scheduled at Rho Fiera Milano from 10 to 14 November, where registrations will open for the 2023 season of the Women's European Championship 300 SSP. The promoter also takes the opportunity to anticipate some big news. A third round in Europe will be added to the calendar, which will therefore feature 3 weekends across Europe and 3 in Italy.
